The stage is set for an electric finish to the district baseball season as the Owasso Rams and Enid Plainsmen prepare to square off in a two-game series that will determine the District 6A-3 champion. With identical 11-1 district records, the stakes couldn’t be higher as the top seed in the upcoming playoff bracket hangs in the balance.

The Matchups

  • Monday, 6:30 PM – Enid High School

  • Tuesday, 6:30 PM – Owasso High School

Each team will host a game, adding an extra layer of intensity to what promises to be a thrilling back-to-back series. A sweep by either team would clinch the title outright, while a split would bring tiebreakers into play.

By the Numbers
The Owasso Rams (30-2 overall) enter the series as one of the most dominant teams not only in Oklahoma but nationwide. They boast an average margin of victory of 8.0 runs in district play and hold high national rankings, including No. 5 in Baseball America and the National High School Baseball Coaches Association polls. MaxPreps slots the Rams at No. 16, while Perfect Game places them at No. 29.

The Enid Plainsmen (19-10 overall) might not carry the same overall record, but their strong district performance proves they belong in this championship conversation. Resilient and battle-tested, Enid has the firepower to challenge even the most formidable opponents.

Coaching Legacy
For Owasso Head Coach Larry Turner, this week’s games represent another chapter in a legendary career. Turner is Oklahoma’s all-time wins leader with a career mark of 1,313-294. Under his leadership, the Rams have reached the State Finals 15 times in the last 25 years, capturing 13 championships along the way.

Turner's list of honors includes inductions into the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2001), the Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2016), the National High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2024), and the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2025).

What's at Stake
A district title would cement Owasso’s standing as a serious contender for another state crown, while a win by Enid could shake up the playoff landscape and provide major momentum heading into the postseason.

Expect a playoff atmosphere, intense competition, and a showcase of some of the best high school baseball Oklahoma has to offer.
